Ugandan pop singer Jemimah Kansiime AKA "Panadol wa bassajja"-- literally, "medicine for men" -- poses in Kampala on April 17, 2015. The 21-year-old singer is being charged in a Ugandan court of law for wilfully and unlawfully producing, trafficking, importing, selling and abetting pornography, the first person to be indicted under the new anti-porn law. The singer has already spent five weeks in jail and faces up to 10 years in prison. Critics say it is part of a growing anti-liberal movement including tough laws against homosexuals in Uganda, where religious-driven conservatism appears to be on the rise and where US evangelical preachers rather than pop stars like Kansiime often receive rock star welcomes. Panadol wa Basajja
La chanteuse de 21 ans Panadol wa Basajja a passé cinq semaines en prison fin 2014. La raison : avoir diffusé un clip suggestif dans lequel elle apparaît en string et savonne lascivement ses fesses et son généreux décolleté. Elle encourt désormais jusqu’à dix ans de prison pour violation de la loi antipornographique si elle est jugée coupable lors du premier procès appliquant ce texte, promulgué en février 2014. L’artiste doit comparaître d’ici la fin du mois mais son avocat compte demander un report jusqu’à ce que la Cour constitutionnelle tranche une requête déposée contre la loi par des militants qui l’estiment « excessive et vague ».
